New to Aprimo DAM?

Hello and Welcome to our introductory Aprimo DAM enablement training. 

The following materials will help you understand what Aprimo DAM can offer and how best to utilize its features.  These short video modules will illustrate how to:

• Login and navigate the platform
• Find the content you need
• Download or distribute assets for usage
• Collaborate with your colleagues
• Upload and add data to new content
• Do other interesting things within Aprimo DAM.

There are four different user roles that operate within Aprimo DAM, here they are with typical high-level descriptions. Your access may be slightly different depending  on your organizations specific configuration: 

1. Consumer End User - search, share and download content.
2. Contributor End User - consumer items above, plus the ability to upload, re-version, add data and modify data.
3. Librarian End User  - same as contributor, but with additional permissions such as delete or other bulk action access.
4. System Administrator - same as contributor, plus the ability to configure the backend and have full control over all assets.

Consumer End User Materials

Let us start with the basic end-user role:  Consumer.

This user role, generally has read only access to the DAM and its contents.  The consumer's  main focus is searching and browsing for content so that they can download it for usage. The Consumer role permissions are included in the other 3 user roles listed above; however, the other 3 other user roles have additional permissions assigned to enable upload and modification of data.

Learn how to search and filter content in Aprimo DAM to find content you need, when you need it. Including free-text search, advanced search and using filters to narrow down results even further.

Learn how to work with assets in bulk by placing assets in basket or using the selection feature then utilizing bulk menu options.

9.  Collections and Collaboration Boards

Aprimo DAM allows end users to create collections of assets for different purposes and then to  share them with other DAM users.

Contributor End User Materials

Next lets focus on the more advanced end user role: Contributor.

Contributors can add or edit content within the DAM.  While uploading  assets to DAM, Contributors can enrich them with data so that they can be located and reused for any future use case. They also have access to more advanced options based on their permissions. 

⚠️ The Librarian role is typically a type of advanced Contributor with even more permissions to perform more advanced tasks and actions.
