Library Agent - FAQ

Librarian Agent

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I use the Librarian Agent instead of Rules?

Both automate tasks in Aprimo DAM, but they serve different purposes.

Librarian Agent

  • Focuses on asset ingestion
  • Processes files in a structured pipeline
  • Ideal for enrichment and transformation

Rules

  • Trigger based on events such as metadata updates or classification changes
  • Often used for workflows or lifecycle automation.

Why are assets locked during ingestion?

Assets are locked temporarily to prevent conflicts between automated processing and manual updates while enrichment tasks run.

Will predictive metadata overwrite existing values?

No. If a metadata field already contains a value, predictive metadata will not overwrite it automatically.

How can I troubleshoot Librarian Agent processing?

Users with access to the Audit Trail can review the asset timeline to see which pipeline steps ran successfully, which were skipped, and which failed.

What is the “File ready for use” rule trigger?

The File ready for use trigger activates when the Librarian Agent has completed all processing steps for an asset.

It ensures that rules run only after the asset is fully prepared, allowing workflows and other automations to start safely once all enrichment actions are complete.
